We will be measuring channel widths, stream gradients, looking at soils and possibly planting a few willows and cottonwoods as we go. This activity will be close to roads so not too much hiking is involved. This will be at the “Ground truthing” areas in the Gifford Pinchot that CFC has identified for potential beaver habitat. This work will increase habitat for fish and beavers by creating more side stream channels. One day may be spent doing huckleberry surveys or a timber survey.
We will likely want to arrive on Thursday afternoon to be ready for action in the morning. We would be camping at the Iron Creek Campground.
