Author Scott Freeman will be speaking about his book on November 1st at 7pm at the Mountaineers, 7700 Sand Point Way, Seattle. Some of us from the Seattle Broadband plan to attend this event; in preparation, we decided to hold our book club discussion on October 18th at 7 pm. For location, please email email@example.com. You do not need to have read the book to come to our discussion. The book, Saving Tarboo Creek: One Family’s Quest to Heal the Land, by Scott Freeman, is available at the Seattle Public Library, the King County Library, the Elliott Bay Bookstore, and on Amazon.
Here is a link to a description of the book.
We will also begin reading, “Tools for Grassroots Activists: Best Practices for Success in the Environmental Movement,” edited by Nora Galagher and Lisa Myers. For our October 18th discussion, we will read the preface (pp. xv-xvii) and Chapter 01: The Business of Changing the World (pp. 2-7).
Our first book meeting was a great success, and we look forward to our next gathering. We hope you can join us!
