September 15-18 | A Weekend at Camp Widjiwagan (MN)

September 15 @ 4:00 pm - September 18 @ 12:00 pm

The Minnesota Wild Water Broads will again be working with the NFS Kawishiwi Ranger District near Ely, Minnesota in creating a service project that we can dig into and be proud.

This year the new director of the camp has allowed us to extend our event to Monday, giving us an extra day to enjoy Camp Widjiwagan and Burntside Lake—a 7,139-acre lake.

The camp provides wonderful meals, cabins with flush toilets and views of beautiful Burntside Lake. Friday night after we enjoy dinner we will gather a the outdoor fire pit for a sing- a- long and s’mores. On Saturday, we will dig into our service project with the Kawishiwi Ranger District Forester. Upon returning to camp we will enjoy the camp sauna, use the camp canoes or take a quick dip in the lake (feel free to bring your own canoes or kayaks). Before dinner on Saturday we meet at the cabins for social hour and our annual Wild Waters Reflection meeting (another term for Keep it Uncover Happy Hour). Sunday we will hike a local trail with fabulous views and Sunday evening our advocacy team will meet to discuss our work as a broadband. Monday after breakfast we will request ideas for next year, “Year of the ______” and then say our goodbyes.

Cost for the entire weekend will be $195.00 based on the participation of 16 broads. Questions? Please contact Maureen Monroe at (952) 546-3199.
