Join Utah’s Greater Wasatch Broadband for a spring field trip to the Spiral Jetty. According to Wikipedia, “the Jetty is an earthwork sculpture constructed in April 1970 that is considered to be the most important work of American sculptor Robert Smithson. Built on the northeastern shore of the Great Salt Lake near Rozel Point entirely of mud, salt crystals, and basalt rocks, Spiral Jetty forms a 1,500-foot-long (460 m), 15-foot-wide (4.6 m) counterclockwise coil jutting from the shore of the lake. As we continue our celebration of the Great Salt Lake this year we thought this would be a fun outing for everyone. Here are the details:

Meeting place: Maverik gas station off I-15 and 12th Street in Ogden (Northeast corner)

Meeting time: 9:30 a.m. It’s about a 90 minute drive to the Jetty.

What to bring: Camp chair and your lunch. Also the normal stuff like sunscreen, water, walking shoes, hat, light jacket.

RSVP: by April 1

What else: For those who want to make a full day of this field trip bring a swimsuit/towel and $18 and we will stop on the way back at Crystal Hot Springs (highest mineral content in the world – relaxing and healing)!
