April 22 | Silver Falls Earth Day Hike! (Willamette Valley, Cascade Volcanoes Broadbands)
Date:
April 22, 2025
Time:
10:00-4:00 PM
You are invited to join the Willamette Valley Broadband and the Cascade Volcanoes Broadband for a hike of the 7.2 mile Silver Falls loop trail!
We will take a combination of the Canyon Trail and the Rim Trail above, behind and around ten stunning waterfalls. The waterfall trails are delightfully green and full of wildflowers this time of year, and after our wet spring, there is likely to still be lots of water in the North Fork of Silver Creek.
Much of the trail is flat, but significant parts are uneven and steep, with 800 feet of elevation gain and rated moderate to difficult, so bring hiking poles if you need them for uneven rocky terrain. Weʼll start at the North Falls trailhead and walk and view the falls on our way to the South Falls Lodge. We will meander along the Rim Trail for the final two miles back to the cars and have our final waterfall views.
If you have an Oregon state park pass, please bring it otherwise contribute to the $5 per car charge to park, as well as driver costs for three hours of driving. Bring water, lunch and snacks. Be prepared for any weather and some muddy trails. Bring rain gear and wear sturdy boots or shoes. We may get damp behind a few of the falls.
Weʼll organize carpools after you sign up.
Sorry, no dogs allowed on waterfall trails.
