Social gathering in Summit County Utah with Tree Utah explaining their mission and prospects for further work with them. (one hour) Then we went to a hiking trail where snow was packed and hiked for 2+ hours and did ‘Broads talk’.

Reflection/Evaluation

Goal was to offer an opportunity to folk from SLC, Park City, Ogden (Greater Wasatch) to get together and build a sense of belonging and have fun while also learning about a NPO that plants trees, i.e. helps our changing climate. We met at Kathy Pope’s home and she and Deanne Williams from SLC did the planning while Barbara did the communications. We had women who hadn’t participated before from SLC come (retired UofU professors and medical professionals) and one woman from Czech Republic who said it was the best winter hike she had been on since being in Utah and that was for 25 years! WooHoo!
