Short Description of Activity

Lobbying at the Round House in Santa Fe, Visiting our NM Senators and Representatives and meeting with their legislative assistants regarding particular bills that concern the environment, energy, wildlife. Listening to legislative discussion on the floor.

Reflection/Evaluation

This was an active day to talk to our legislators regarding bills that came up in our legislative session: Prohibiting Wildlife Trafficking, Grid modernization, Tax credits for rooftop solar, community-solar, tax credits for electric vehicles, increased gas tax to combat climate change, and more. We also supported a noontime rally in the Roundhouse Rotunda, just to show our numbers during several presentations, ie Global Warming Emergency kiddos. The first three bills above went onto the Governor for her signature. The last two mentioned failed to make it to the Governor. It was unfortunate that more couldn’t be accomplished in a short 30-day session.
