Short Description of Activity

The Lincoln National Forest is broken into parcels in mainly one county – Lincoln, NM, but each of the parcels are quite spread out. Susan Ostlie and I worked on this project together to draft comments for ourselves and the Broadband at first but then made the comments just pertain to ourselves as our Broadband had not been to this part of NM as a group. I had many experiences in the above-ground as well as underground portions of the Forest. Susan’s experiences were more limited but we were still able to describe wilderness qualities in the areas wee had been to.

Reflection/Evaluation

We were hoping to have talking points from Sierra Club or The Wilderness Society. These never arrived, so we built our own personal comments based on memories and experience. We never found out whether our comments were accepted into the record. What took a lot of hours was reviewing all of the areas and trying to figure out if these areas were the ones we had traveled in many bygone years ago. We then collaborated minimally on our individual comments.
