Short Description of Activity

A Letters to the Editor webinar, titled, “Wine, Whine, and Write:Couch Activism for the Borderlands”. We had about 50 attendees from all across the country, including Broadband leaders and their members. We presented several conservation issues related to the Border Wall constructed letters to the editor to hold the Biden Administration to their promise of “not another foot of wall will be built.” Several letters were subsequently published in papers in several states.

Reflection/Evaluation

Overall it went well and I would say we met our objectives. Many participants said they learned a lot, and several letters made it into newspapers. We also talked about the strength of sharing issues across the country to help each broadband expand their influence. Some improvements would be to break out in chat rooms when we have such a large, online attendance and including information sources so people unfamiliar with the area can write a more in-depth letter.
