Short Description of Activity

Aldo’s Broadband signed on or sent the following letters: 1) Signed on to the “Citizens Comments Regarding the Final EIS for Special Use Airspace Optimization to Support Existing Aircraft at Holloman Air Force Base”. (The Gila Conservation Coalition and a coalition of conservation groups including Aldo’s Broadband submitted comments on the Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Holloman Air Force Base proposal to expand F-16 pilot training airspace over the Gila. The Final EIS addresses comments received during the Draft EIS comment period and identifies Alternative 1: the expansion of the Talon military operations area (MOA) near HAFB as the Preferred Alternative. Other than a “no change” alternative, this was the preferred alternative advocated for by conservation and business interests. Conservation groups submitted public comments to support the Preferred Alternative, as well as communicate our concerns that the FEIS significantly underestimates risks and hazards posed by Alternative 2 and 3 in the Gila Region.
2) Used Tucson Broadband letter format including recommended actions regarding Border Wall construction and contracts, restoration of impacted key areas, etc., and sent the letter to New Mexico’s southern district U.S. Congressional rep, and the state’s two U.S. Senators.

Reflection/Evaluation

OK. Have not heard replies from the letters regarding the Border Wall issues yet.
