Short Description of Activity

Met Sean Kelly and Kate Vassel, FS Range specialists. Hiked Jones Creek trail to Jones Creek key area and learned about key areas and a dot survey of bluegrass and carex. Then down to Hermosa Creek trail to Stoney key area, which was just rocks. No longer a key area, representative of the lower pasture. Hiked out to Lower Hermosa trailhead.

Reflection/Evaluation

Good relationship building. Sean is very experienced and welcomes our input. He believes the permitees want to do the right thing. We expressed our interest in a healthy forest ecosystem. Both specialists are knowledgeable and interested in a viable, productive forest.
