Short Description of Activity
We joined the Coalition on the 19 for training for lobbying (Janifer and Di) and then on the 23rd we joined Corry Westbrook, Endangered Species Coalition Advisor; Kirk Robinson, Western Wildlife Conservancy meeting with Arjun Nijhawan, legislative assistant for Senator Romney. We were asking for his sponsorship or at least support of S 1728, Extinction Prevention Act of 2021.
Reflection/Evaluation
Well….. whatdaya think? Arjun is only 28, was responsive and respectful, but spouted the usual position that Romney ‘thought the endangered species act should be reformed’ but when asked to elaborate, he could not, but went into ‘public lands’ and local control and decision making. In the end he welcomed further communications etc. and this is whom I will need to contact for D.C. I’m pretty certain, so a contact was made. He now knows Jans and my ages and we’re Great OLD Broads
