Short Description of Activity
I joined the Zoom call for the Field Checking group.
Reflection/Evaluation
I am still learning about the Avenza Maps and how to find the timber sales. I was not able to connect with Sam about a field checking training for our group, but I have plans to do so. We are working on developing a field checking form and a volunteer group is needed in SW Washington to monitor proposed timber sales and legacy trees. Our goal is to set a side 100-120 year old trees for DNR to develop forestlands. We also need to develop a protocol for defining a structurally complex forest. Currently, there are 5-10 parcels in SW Washington that are under consideration for logging. We plan to sign on a letter to Inslee in support of legacy forests.
