Short Description of Activity
Tree Planting event at the Whiskey Creek Restoration Site that is an on-going restoration collaboration between the Columbia Land Trust and the Hood River Watershed Group. The site is near the confluence of Whiskey Creek and the mainstem Hood River within the Land Trust’s Powerdale Corridor. There was 10 Broad Volunteers along with 10 other volunteers from other areas. It was publicly advertised. We planted and mulched 500 native trees and shrubs. Tools and gloves were provided along with donuts and hot coffee by the Watershed Group.
Reflection/Evaluation
A successful outing with 5 Broads from Washington and 5 Broads from the Portland area who organized themselves car pooling and arrived to event on time. New COVID forms were signed and COVID protocol adhered to. Steady work along with other volunteers all 500 plants were planted. Perfect Fall weather made for fun work and a fun time. A good tine for all.
