Short Description of Activity

Provided written comments to CPW trails program about the application for trails grant to add mountain bike trails to Electric Hills trails in Montrose County, on BLM land. Consulted with Craig Grother, Colorado Backcounty Hunters and Anglers and Back Canyon Audubon Society. Comments were on insuring wildlife winter habitat protection, ensuring effective closure structures, and making points that trail maintenance need to be planned and that mt bike trails may not be multi-use.

Reflection/Evaluation

Nice to work with CBHA. Craig was prompted by my inquiry to submit his own comments. I think is is valuable to have Broads continue to comment to CPW on the trail issues of wildlife protection , etc. for specific trail projects and to keep making points to CPW about necessity to plan for and fund maintenance and ensuring true multi-use.
