Short Description of Activity

1. ORION magazine & Yale Forest School: “The Language of Trees” A Conversation with Alison Hawthorne Demeng & Kathleen Dean Moore. Enlightening & uplifting discussion. 2. ELEMENTAL Broads screening again about trees, forests, forest fires. Need to see this more than one time to take it all in! Learned so much!

Reflection/Evaluation

Needed #1: “need to speed the evolution of a new ethic”, “do what gives you a sense of agency which will lead to hope” “hold loss in our heart but celebrate” “find beauty in the changes but do not let despair come in” #2 SUPERB production with so much history and new science. So many take aways! “young forests are contributing to climate change while old forests fight it”, harvested forest has more carbon emissions than a burn, ignition problem-not a wildfire control problem. Want to use this film as a big draw for our community. I didn’t get an evaluation survey at the end, however, that they mentioned.
