Short Description of Activity
Prepared for and participated in the Earth Day event in Gough Park by setting up an Aldo’s Broadband GOBW table, including a tripod exhibit linking our activities to the climate change theme. This event was coordinated by Gila Resources Information Project and was combined with Continental Divide Trail Days. Four steering committee members were the core group for this, and several additional members helped at the GOBW table. In addition to the tripod exhibit, collage images of our activities, and membership information, we had a sign-up sheet for our email listserv and a restoration project along Black Canyon stream that we will likely be helping with later this year.
Reflection/Evaluation
It went very well and was enjoyable to be out there again at such an event. The tripod exhibit worked well as a talking /gathering point. A good number of attendees signed up for our listserv. We were briefly interviewed on the spot by a local newspaper reporter who was attracted to our table. The overall interview process resulted in a thorough newspaper article which also mentioned GOBW several times, including the article conclusion. Co-leader will get additional feedback from our next steering committee meeting.
