Short Description of Activity
A total of 3 folks including the hike “leader” hiked along a shaded riparian area following Cherry Creek within Gila National Forest.
Reflection/Evaluation
It was enjoyable and we hiked with one of our broadband’s newer members. Due to heat, forest conditions, and participation levels so far, we will likely try quarterly hikes rather than monthly. Based on membership / listserv questionnaires and the like, offering local GOBW hikes is the most requested activity. So far we have had somewhat limited participation, however, and scheduling is always an issue for participants. We hope that this activity might lead to some participants becoming more actively involved in our advocacy and other efforts.
