Short Description of Activity
Robin Woolman and Kathleen Worley on Recreation Site Monitoring Salmon River Trail
Reflection/Evaluation
Robin and Kathleen monitored 4 recreation sites for ground disturbance, tree damage, litter, invasive species, and damage from stock. One site scored 5.5 for overall impact, indicating severely damaged trees and ground cover. This site indicated that the ground would not recover after two growing seasons. Another site scored 1 for overall impact which indicated very little impact. The other two sites were rated at a 4, suggesting moderate impact. Robin and Kathleen made it back by 6pm and dined at “The Rendezvous Grill and Tap Room” afterward. The rec site monitoring was new and proved to be so much fun! We had a great time!
