Short Description of Activity

Judith Lopez and two other volunteers recruited by a Broad’s member assisted Sam Hermanstorfer in putting fladrey around the ranch’s animal enclosure to complete its readiness for the Experimental condition. The ranch already had game cameras and lights set up. The volunteers assisted in constructing the fladry. Plastic strips are connected to a rope, with 5 inches between the strips. The rope is hung at 23 inches about the soil level. Then a second rope is hung near the soil level and the strips are stapled to it as well. The volunteers worked for 9 hours on the project and additionally drove at least a half hour to get to the meet up point.

Reflection/Evaluation

The fladry was created and successfully mounted around the animal enclosure so that the ranch could be placed in the experimental condition.
