Key Partners: BLM
Landscape/area: Adobe Badlands WSA (10425 acres)

Measurable Outcomes

Outcome 1: Trail/land monitored (1 )

Short Description of Activity

I monitored and walked the area around the parking lot and scanned below. There was not large amounts of new trash but some broken glass that was picked up. I went to the dirt road south of the parking lot and found lumber that had been thrown out and some more pieces of glass, china plates and pots, picked it all up for disposal. However, I found 3 plastic Folger coffee containers with large rocks in them that obviously were being used as targets. I left them since they were not leaving shards of glass or splintering and seemed like a better target to be used than glass/china.

Reflection/Evaluation

The area is much cleaner than it was before this stewardship project. However, the area is being used for unapproved purposes like bicycles and 4 wheelers. They ride right by the signs.
