Short Description of Activity

At the last minute, my co-leaders, Genia Moncada and Barb Muirhead, decided that they were unable to attend this bi-annual rendezvous of the Pacific Northwest Broadband Leaders so I went by myself. The Rendezvous was held in a large beautiful cabin overlooking the mountains. We met and had substantive discussions for half the first day. In the morning of that day, we went on a lovely hike. The second day consisted of a field trip to observe the effects of grazing on public lands and to learn about how to measure the effect.

Reflection/Evaluation

In retrospect, the seven-hour drive to Baker City and back was well worth it. I wish that Genia and Barb had made the trip. It was great to get to know many of the PNW Broadband leaders personally and to socialize with them in an informal setting. I also began to to learn about grazing as a result of the field trip that we took. Mary Fleischmann did all the cooking, and the food was amazing. All in all, this rendezvous was a fantastic experience! I can’t wait for the next one.
