Short Description of Activity
Attended CWAG ZOOM meeting with guest speaker Bruce Babbitt, former governor of Arizona, and past Secretary of the Interior. Speaking on and discussing water, emphasizing the Big Chino Groundwater Basin.
Reflection/Evaluation
Governor Babbitt believes that the biggest problem is not increased growth, but mega-agriculture. He illustrated this with Butler Valley in La Paz County where the Saudi’s grow and export alfalfa. Need to generate political support for management. People need a voice. Need legislation. Excellent talk and questions and answers.
