Short Description of Activity
Several of our steering committee members completed the NM governor’s office survey regarding state’s 30 x 30 initiative to protect 30% of our land, watersheds, wildlife, and natural heritage by 2030. The survey requested feedback on what constitutes “conserved land”. Various activities were mentioned regarding how public lands could play a role, ranging from decreased oil and gas extraction, voluntary retirement of grazing allotments, conservation of mature forests, etc.
Reflection/Evaluation
Went fine. We won’t expect to hear back directly given that this survey was widely distributed to whomever wanted to respond.
