Short Description of Activity

The activity was a site visit to a portion of the Black Ram project on the Kootenai NF. The visit was lead by Rick Bass, of the Yaak Valley. Forest Council.

Reflection/Evaluation

The goal was to understand the Back Ram project, and to build a relationship with those in the Yaak who have been working protect this forest. Rick shared a great deal of information regarding this project, as we walked first up a hot. dry, logged road, and then into the deep forest of mature trees. we discussed possible action items for future events such as a street theater event to bring visibility to the need to protect old forest, and a possible creative event of song writing on the theme of old forests, with the music to be played on a guitar made of wood from this very forest. Yes, objective was met
