Short Description of Activity

Read and responded to email and text information from key partners listed above. Also read documents related to indigenous planting and land maintenance techniques.

Reflection/Evaluation

Email messages are necessary, informative , and foster a sense of connection to others doing similar work. I am still thinking about the BHA article asking “Where are you at?” in terms of your efforts to protect natural lands. This month there were a couple of email messages from people who had been members in the past and reconnecting is always good. Email and reading = 5 hours
The indigenous articles gave information about how Native Americans planted plants in locations where the new plants might provide food in future years. They also spoke to learning by use fire to clear out plants that were crowding out the food plants that were also trying to grow in an area.
