Short Description of Activity

The US Superior Forest Service rangers Assigned us to trail clearing on a stretch from Widgiwagon to Camp DuNord. The trail was very overgrown and we did not make a lot of progress. We also met with EMPOWER from Ely, MN to learn about their mission and had an opportunity t o see their BWCAW all women canoe trip. We hiked to Kiwishiwee Falls. We had a great turnout; 16 members. We always provide time for social activities, hiking, canoeing, sauna, happy hour and serious discussions about our mission. Next year we decided to focus on CLIMATE CHANGE, our topic will be YEAR OF THE BOG (carbon studies) and will be at the PRUCE INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH CENTER in Grand Rapids, MN.YES,

Reflection/Evaluation

Our activities are always extremely good; the trail was very difficult and required much better clearing equipment but we made some progress. Being outdoors in our MN wilderness is spectacular. It touches everyones soul and spirit. We are very Blessed to be able to provide service to this area. This is our sixth year of stewardship in this area and we have a strong partnership with THE FOREST SERVICE, CAMP WIDGIWAGAN, EMPOWER AND MN VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS..
