Short Description of Activity

9 Broads from Cascade Volcanoes joined several other chapters in a rally outside of the FS building in downtown Portland.

Reflection/Evaluation

We listened to speakers, chants, and others in sending a message to the FS that the rule should include opposing logging of mature and old growth forests. We even had the fire engine protest with signs because “The Earth is on Fire!”. We delivered our petition to the FS opposing logging of MOG. We had a wide variety of signs and about 100 people showed up. There is also a follow up meeting planned with Oregon Wild by Zoom. Great way to engage with our partners! It was cold, but dry. I also handed out postcards to Ron Wyden of Oregon for the “No Place for a Mine” campaign. Fun day and it was so great to see Bucky and the Willamette Broads, too! We had lunch at Vegetarian Grill restaurant afterward. We brough our signs into the restaurant and one of the workers took our handouts and was planning on sending in a comment to Ron Wyden.
