Short Description of Activity

The members of the Broadband grazing team met with the new District Ranger of the Columbine District to discuss our observations in the Hermosa Grazing Allotments which have been ignored for the 3 years we have been sending our reports.

Reflection/Evaluation

The meeting was extremely informative and the New District Ranger seems committed to “lowering the walls” for more effective communication between us. Some of the members of our grazing team left feeling disempowered and questioned whether this is a good use of our chapters time. Deb spends days working on these reports showing that the landscape is suffering with existing number of cows and dates. The Forest Service does not acknowledge oir observations. The frustration is that we are aiming to change a paradigm that is not changeable. Our efforts and communication need to be heard somewhere above the Columbine Forest Service Office.
