Short Description of Activity
Ongoing public meetings regarding location of county land fill with a 100 year plan.
Reflection/Evaluation
Very controversial meetings. Sites were originally 13 and have at this point eliminated 4. Issues and concerns are wildlife corridors, habitat, light pollution and effects on ground water. Final decision on getting down to 3 or 5 potential locations is set to be decided by middle of the month. Final decision of where the location will be is scheduled for later this year. Currently on of our County commissioners is working with Sen. Wyden, Sen. Merkley and BLM for other potential sites that could be less controversial.
