Short Description of Activity

Linda Folkstad, Trish Claffey, Barb Fox Kilgore, Laurie, and Cheri Gavin joined LCEP and Steigerwald National Wildlife REfuge in a tree planting event.

Reflection/Evaluation

The day was surprisingly dry and the ground was wet, muddy and filled with clay. This was the most difficult tree planting I had ever attended. But we managed to get 200 plants/trees in the ground. There were red elderberry, snowberry, cranapple trees, among others. It was a successful, but muddy day (as you can tell from my pictures). Sadly, it is the last tree planting event for the season for these partners. We have met some pretty cool LCEP leaders who were glad to see us again and one, who is planning on getting her mom to join Broads. I hope she does.
