Short Description of Activity

I meet with Michele Hickey from MCPL to share ideas about a seed library that would be housed in the library for public use. The plan is to start with seeds for garden plants and flowering plants and then incorporate seed from native plants (in order to encourage biodiversity and wildlife connectivity). At the Roundtable meeting we listened to reports from representatives of each recreation group explain the train activities the had done and plans for future work. We listened to staff from BLM and FS speak about winter recreation. I met with Bella Harris who was recently hired by CO Wildlands project to organize support for the Dolores River corridor protection.

Reflection/Evaluation

The idea of a seed library is exciting and may foster the use of native plants in peoples yards. Roundtable- FS rep reported that over 2000 trees that had fallen across trails last winter were cut and removed by the ATV club, Jeep club, and Mt. bike club which is great ! We shared ideas for increasing club membership. Bella agreed to come to our next meeting to introduce herself. learn about our BB and tell us about the projects CO Wildlands is working on now.
