Short Description of Activity

I collaborated with five other Broadband leaders from the Pacific Northwest to plan and host a four-day Broadwalk at Camp Delaney in Dry Falls State Park, April 13 through 17th. We planned a day of hikes, a day for stewardship, and a day of speakers on advocacy issues. We also had participants write postcards on advocacy issues. I led a hike on the first day.. Micky Ryan’s partner cooked all the wonderful meals during the Broadwalk. It was a truly collaborative effort by the Pacific Northwest leaders.

Reflection/Evaluation

The Camp Delaney Broadwalk was a huge success. The 45 attendees enjoyed the Broadwalk and learned a lot. The Five Broadband leaders got to know each other better and learned to work together productively as a result of planning this Broadwalk, With so many ideas put forth and so many irons in the fire, this project often proved to be a challenge during the many months of planning, but the final event was well worth it! Two of our members each spent two hours in highway clean-up as part of a stewardship activity.. Our Broadband wrote 37 postcards at this event.
