Short Description of Activity
GOBW and SSR and CWS met at the local riparian area, under the giant Fremont Cottonwoods, and distributed information about the environment and information about all 3 groups. We handed out seedlings of lettuce and peppers for local gardens. We made milkweed seed balls and sent them home with friends and neighbors and instructions for planting. Furthermore, we made bird food feeders made of bird seed rolled in peanut butter, smeared onto pine cones that can hang from a tree branch. A wonderful time was had by all!
Reflection/Evaluation
It was a fun time for all from 10 am to 2 pm. Subaru brought their new hybrid car, and we all had a lesson in hybrid cars. Subaru gave $2,500 to Save Red Rock. GOBW will hopefully be involved in spending some of this donation. The local neighborhood kids tooks home seeds and seed balls and lots of good information about Mothering Mother Nature.
