National Equity and Justice meeting to discuss job openings within the organization and how to attract a diverse voice.
Reflection/Evaluation
I felt the discussion went well with good thought on approaches and an extensive list of contacts.
I feel sad that there was such concern weather a person of color would feel welcomed/comfortable in a meeting. Why wouldn’t they.
If a person of color is interested being a part of a team that is working toward common goals and interests, environmental passions, what they have to contribute to knowledge and skills as a member of that team is all that matters. People working together. Diversity is the gift that adds different perspectives to help create a more comprehensive solution to an issue.
