Short Description of Activity

The GRITS Broadband hosted this meeting to introduce us to the unique Okefenokee Swamp, and the effort to get it designated as a Unesco World Heritage site. If that succeeds, it will be the first National Wildlife Refuge to be so designated. The pristine water quality.is threatened by a titanium mine on the St. Mary’s River.

Reflection/Evaluation

I had no idea that this area was so significant and pristine, when compared to the Everglades, which has been dredged, drained and polluted and is plagued with invasive species.
