Reflection/Evaluation
Good updates. Chandra filled everyone in on what is going on with National since she is one of the folks who sit on the Advocacy transition group. They are revisiting position statements , but need mission statements for wildlife to name a few. Looking at guidance for sign on’s and support letters when they come our way, the policy needs to be more clear. Discussed the Public Lands package which is pretty poor but due to lame duck session probably won’t go anywhere. Group with a subcommittee is working on comments for the North West Forest Plan Amendment. Have time to do this, will get talking points to chapters to send out to membership. Discussion of maybe having some workshops for members regarding comment writing. Reminder that in March their is the PIELC conference in Eugene. Also it was brought up the need for a solar position statement as BLM moves forward with allowing more solar farms on public lands.
