Key Partners: Alliance for community engagement Heidi Cody, clark County council (Washington state)
Measurable Outcomes
Outcome 1: Advocacy actions (3 emails)
Short Description of Activity
I engaged in 3 advocacy actions: 1) (Per GOB recommendation) wrote to my US rep for no vote on HR 521-Rep Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, 2) wrote letter (modeled after and modified from Laurie Kerr’s) to our Washington state DNR commissioner DAve Upthegrove to stop the Dabbler Timber sale (old growth forest and habitat for spotted owl), for which my CLark county council already requested to be stopped and 3) reviewed request from Heidi Cody from Alliance for Community Engagement and forwarded DNR letter to all county council members.
Reflection/Evaluation
It felt good to take these actions of emails and letters since it’s feels much more productive and rewarding than passivity!
