Short Description of Activity
Participated in two rallies involving various groups, to show support for public lands and related issues. This included the “hands off” rally on April 5. We sent emails to our listserv with details for joining the “hands off our public lands” component of the April 5 rally. In Silver City, five different groups with different emphases started in different locations to converge at the town park.
Reflection/Evaluation
It was a very encouraging day and it even snowed a bit which was great, given the drought. The overall turnout for a town of this size was very impressive and the signs creative. “This Land is Our Land” was sung by our public lands group as we walked to the park. It felt good to be part of such a large group coming together to express dire concern.
