Short Description of Activity

Met with three women from SAGE. Our leadership team met with them last Fall and they are just now getting back to us/me.
They want to teach/impower young people about environmental issues and figure out a hands on way to do this.

Reflection/Evaluation

Met with SAGE to look at how we might be able to work with them on a pilot project and be clear about capacity. Looked at what direction to go to support this. One suggestion was if we can get into a local middle school science class, possibly incorporate discussion and hands on how to deal with invasive weeds and why it’s important to our environment to eliminate them. Looking at Knapweed which can be done right outside of the school. This depends on a teacher support. Another idea is that a highschool has an ecology class, which we/I could share importance of advocacy, maybe advocacy 101. How to do it, what makes an impact and again it’s importance from young people. More to come.
