Short Description of Activity
Bi-monthly meeting with Co. Commissioners. Topics were DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibilty) and having to find a new location for the county land-fill.
Reflection/Evaluation
The room was overflowing with community members concerned with the Commissioners doing away with the county’s DEIA committee due to fears of Trump Admin. not giving Federal funds to counties that support that. Folks really ripped into them. I had sent them a picture from the newspaper regarding the Trumps Admin. being litigated on this and requested they reestablish this committee. The rest of the meeting was about the need for the County to come up with plan B of a location for the landfill. They did not do their due diligence with the first location, which actually is good as it was to close to wilderness and there would of been a lot of litigation going on. Now begins the work on they finding a new location with different parameters….which I have already sent in my comments.
