Short Description of Activity
4Corners Broadband’s first Regional Broadwalk Walking in the Footsteps of Alice Eastwood is Live! After two years of trying to figure out how to get this wonderful cultural sharing opportunity into the Broadwalk format- it’s on! Sept. 5th-8th. We’ll stay at Sand Island Campground near Bluff and the San Juan River. Mr. Clifford and Mr.Joe will share cultural campfire stories. Saturday night we’ll have an expert Navajo historian talk to us about the history of uranium mining on the Navajo Nation and Western CO. Mr.Clifford will take us to see hanging gardens around Bluff and the Navajo Nation. Mr.Joe will teach us artistic landscape photography and will help us create a watercolor of our favorite photo on the last day. The camp cooks will prepare yummy traditional Navajo traditional meals. There’s never been another Broadwalk like this one and I’m so proud to bring Mr. Clifford and Mr. Joe into the Broads community for relationship building, cultural sharing, integrated learning, and fun!
Reflection/Evaluation
I’ll let you know in September. But for sure, this project is what brought us the donation from Diane Wren- she likes our projects and is very excited to go on this one.
