Short Description of Activity
Carole and I went out on what will become a monthly stewardship activity of picking up debris and trash in the Red Rock National Conservation Area. Blue Diamond Broads have an Adopt-a-Highway designation on Highway 159.
Previously, I loaded and texted approximately 30 GOBW members to attend the event. This was the Pre-Activity Hours.
Reflection/Evaluation
Although it was a bit warm, we managed to pick up 3 full giant bags of trash. Meanwhile, we located several new areas on our route where more trash exists that we couldn’t easily get to this time. In total, we were working at it for about 2 hours. Very satisfying.
We did figure out a good strategy. Park along the route. Walk down to the end of the trash pick up point, and then walk back to the car, facing the traffic flow.
