Short Description of Activity
Our monthly leadership meeting with leaders and this time we had a member who attended. We now send out our minutes to our membership to let them know what we are doing but also to invite them if interested to attend.
Reflection/Evaluation
Outlined fall broadchats, topics and dates but will have to find a different location due to our current location will be going thru a year of remodel. Did an update on all the advocacy issues we are involved with: Thornburg, NW Forest Plan, Fix our Forest Act, BLM Bridge Creek allotment issues in eastern Oregon, Deschutes National FOrest and comments regarding fuel break projects, Beaver Bill in Oregon State Legislation, Protections for ESA, Deschutes Landfill relocation, Pacific Powerline Plans and impacts east of Bend, McDermitt Lithium Mine updates, ground truthing in the Blue Mts (which is a capacity issue for us right now) and a member asked about the Madras Beef processing plant in Madras. Looked at upcoming campout events and what we can and can’t do this year, as well as Regional broadwalks. Stewardship this year might not happen due to lots of things, like lack of getting much info from FS. Had organizational updates – we, our leadership team and partners really have a lot going on and everyone is extremely busy- but it is all good work.Will have a brief zoom leadership meeting in June but take a breather until fall.
