Stewardship project to see how much damage was done to grazing allotments in the Ochoco’s from the major fires last year.
Reflection/Evaluation
What a day….put a lot of miles on and in some areas the damage was what you would expect from a fire and some areas having major fire damage. Interestingly the riparian areas were in good shape and fire seemed to jump over those areas – not that fences weren’t burnt. Now to find out if the Forest Service is going to allow the area to take a rest from grazing, or if it is going to be a free for all . We will monitor as much as we can, but know that FS will not be able to get out there with one ranger.
