Great conversations of what is going on and how to get involved. I was thrilled to be a presenter on this webinar.
Reflection/Evaluation
I thought things went well. Dalton George did a grea job of opening up the discussion of why it is important to show up and teaching congress what they don’t know. Some interesting facts is that 84% of people support ESA, people do care about what is going on. He also suggested going onto Congress.gov/calendars to know when townhalls are taking place. I gave my presentation of my experience of attending as many townhalls as I can. A suggestion was to have something to hand to staff if you don’t get to ask a question….also calling afterhours and leave messages with your representatives if you are uncomfortable talking directly. SEND letters/postcards. Loved the suggestion of phone jams when there are hot issues as a means to get reps to look at an issue.
