Short Description of Activity

We looked for signs of American dipper birds & nests along cliffs above the Poudre River for our overnight camping trip in end of May.

Reflection/Evaluation

Our goal was to check locations where others had observed American Dippers in the past. We found two cliffs with dipper active nests. One was in a narrow section of Highway 14, not a good location for a larger group. At Gateway Natural Area was a good location with a beach from which to observe the dippers. Jeanie got several good photos of dippers flying to the nest to feed chicks.
