Short Description of Activity
Wildflower hike to Horsetooth Falls: We will identify spring plants in this area; learn strategies for identifying plants throughout the season and discuss the ecosystems and zones they inhabit.
Reflection/Evaluation
I think the hike was enriching for all that attended. We identified over 25 plant species of the Horsetooth Mountain Park, observed the landscape and ecosystem where they live. My goal was to identify the plants along the Horsetooth Falls trail, initiate a discuss about observing the ecosystem and overall to have fun and stimulate curiosity. I think those goals were met as participants seemed enthusiastic and engaged. Plus, as mentioned above we identified over 25 plants along the trail. Horsetooth Mountain Open Space is 2,711 acres of Larimer County park system west of Fort Collins, Colorado
