Short Description of Activity
Overalll discussion regarding what is going on with our National Parks, Public lands and the agencies that manage them.
Reflection/Evaluation
Lots of discussion regarding staff lay-offs, hiring freezes and the low number of seasonals hired. This is lowest staffing in National parks ever. On top of this National Parks are told to stay open to the public but they have not help. It’s a set up for them to fail and for this administration to decide to sell off or change the rules/policies regarding who maintains our parks. Other concerns is a change in FLIPMA. We were urged to be visible, attend townhalls, send in letters and make phone calls – especially when representatives are home. They closed with asking all of us to be kind to rangers, use kind words and kind notes.
