Short Description of Activity
I was invited to be a member of a highschool class panel as they were completing their final project for the year. What this entailed was groups of 3 and 4 students picked a community/environmental project that they wanted to make a difference. They had to describe the issue/problem, outline what has or has not been done with the issue, propose how they would address the issue/problem and then share who the stakeholders were that they would have to convince to gain support for their project. Also how would they measure success.
Reflection/Evaluation
I was extremely impressed with the presentations. Some were local issues such as cleaning the Deschutes River, the issue of students leaving trash in the neighborhood around the school. Others were more global like saving coral reefs, changing planes from fuel emmissions to electric/solar, and all things taking care of our planet.
